Go on leave

A leave of up to 2 weeks does not drop you any rungs, and you get one leave per season. Your rung number can still move down one if a player below you beats someone above you. Only the days of your leave that fall inside a period count for that period. If you are away more than 2 weeks of one period, you drop 5 rungs 2 weeks into your days away in that period, and you stay on leave until your return date. That drop takes the place of the period's match minimum.

If someone has already challenged you, you can still go on leave, but that challenge counts as a loss for you. If the challenger is below you, the challenger takes your rung.

If you have a challenge out, answered or not, going on leave cancels it. There is no result for either of you, and going on leave uses your one leave for the season.

If you are already on leave and want to extend it, fill in this form again with your new return date. To come back sooner, use Return from leave.
